Markets Façade & Front Arena Governance

The trading environment had a historically evolved Front Arena landscape with many connected reporting and data platforms. Different data sources, heterogeneous interfaces and rising demands from risk, product control and trading analytics led to growing complexity. At the same time, a Front Arena upgrade, P&L validations and improvements in mark-to-market and lifecycle management of structured products were on the agenda. The goal was a more stable, centrally managed data and reporting infrastructure for trading IT.

For the business, transparency, consistency and steering capability were priorities. A central Markets Façade reduces media breaks, improves data quality and creates a single source of truth for P&L, valuation and risk data. This significantly cuts alignment effort between trading, risk and product control. A clear governance structure also enables faster releases, lower operational risks and better planning of upgrades – with a direct impact on efficiency, stability and regulatory security.

The opportunity lay in consolidating and standardising data flows and in clear governance for Front Arena as the central trading system. Challenges arose from migrating internal stakeholders to new data and reporting structures, validating P&L logic in the upgrade context and correctly mapping complex structured products over their full lifecycle.

A central data and reporting infrastructure was established as a Markets Façade, connecting Front Arena in a structured way with internal platforms. Data flows were redesigned and standardised, reporting logic harmonised and upgrade validations including P&L reconciliation carried out. Improvements in mark-to-market and lifecycle management of structured products ensured consistent valuations and transparent results across all relevant systems.

We took on business requirements engineering, architecture and data flow design and coordinated the migration of risk, product control and trading analytics stakeholders. We also acted as Scrum Master and Product Owner for Front Arena IT to ensure structured delivery.
